asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the Government propose to make any contribution to the Appeal Fund being raised by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh in connection with the recent floods in South-East Scotland.

The Government have decided to ask Parliament to vote £20,000 for the purposes covered by the Lord Provost's appeal.
