HC Deb 21 September 1948 vol 456 cc70-1W
Sir I. Fraser

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is satisfied that present arrangements for the distribution of available supplies of cigarettes ensure a fair division for all parts of the country.

Mr. Belcher

The distribution of cigarettes is not controlled by His Majesty's Government. But the principal manufacturers inform me that in distributing their products, they try to treat all areas fairly, and from my own enquiries I am satisfied that they achieve a good measure of success.
