HC Deb 21 September 1948 vol 456 c79W
120. Lieut.-Commander Braithwaite

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what has been the cost in dollars to the latest convenient date of the Berlin airlift.

Mr. Mayhew

There is no direct expenditure of dollars on the Berlin airlift, but consequential expenditure on the replacement of aeroplane spare parts and fuel required up to the present is estimated at about 500,000 dollars.
