§ 132. Mr. J. Lewisasked the Minister of Health in view of the facts contained in the leaflet, a copy of which has been sent him, issued on 30th July on compulsory pasteurisation of milk by the National Anti-Vaccination League, how far he recommends pasteurisation as effective in preventing the spread of typhoid fever in those circumstances where untreated fresh milk might be the carrier.
§ Mr. BevanMy information is that the cause of the Montreal outbreak mentioned in the leaflet was never definitely established. I am satisfied that efficient pasteurisation is effective in preventing the spread of typhoid fever in circumstances where untreated fresh milk might be the source of infection.
