§ Mr. H. WilsonThe number of persons in my Department, including ancillary staff, who were engaged solely with the clothes rationing scheme on 1st November, 1948, was 1,297. It is estimated that, in addition, about 200 people were employed for a substantial part of their time on work connected with clothes rationing as well as on other duties.
