§ Mr. JaySince the nationalised industries are largely public utilities or basic industries, direct exports of their products are naturally not large. Dollars are, of course, also earned indirectly by the services of other nationalised industries such as transport; but the amounts cannot be precisely computed. So far as coal is concerned, the value of exports to Canada and Newfoundland increased from $371,800 in April-September, 1947, to $1,955,324 for the same period this year.
