§ Sir R. Glynasked the Minister of Defence if he will consult with the three Service Departments with a view to alleviating the financial burden on officers of the three Services who pay Purchase Tax on all articles of uniform which require modification and change according to the regulations on promotion to a higher rank; and if he will bear in mind that while relief has been afforded by the grant based on prescribed scales and standards to officers on commissioning, it still leaves officers promoted to a higher grade without assistance.
