§ 87. Commander Nobleasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty on what ships, at present building, work has been suspended during the past year; for what periods; and for what reasons.
Mr. DugdaleIn his statement explanatory of the Navy Estimates, 1948–49, my noble Friend explained that the work on certain ships under construction was temporarily suspended. This remains the case, and there has been no further suspension apart from a single small experimental vessel, effective work on which had not actually begun.
