§ Mr. Wilfred PalingThe last increases were given under an agreement reached in September, 1947, and had effect from 1st January, 1947. The amounts varied with grade, age and length of service. The majority of the male grades received an immediate increase of 6s. a week and somewhat greater ultimate benefit.
