HC Deb 02 November 1948 vol 457 c62W
Mr. Prescott

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning if he is aware of the proposal to allocate part of the Padiham Heights, near Sabden, for industry; whether his Department was consulted on this matter; if he is aware of the wide feeling which exists against such a proposal; and what steps he will take in the matter.

Mr. Silkin

I understand that a proposal to erect a lime-crushing plant on Padiham Heights was considered by the County Planning Committee on 13th August and 10th September and that a notice of refusal of permission was sent to the applicants on 23rd September. In the circumstances I do not think any further action is necessary.
