HC Deb 02 November 1948 vol 457 cc65-6W
50. Mr. Skinnard

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is satisfied with the action taken by the Legislature of Bermuda as a result of his despatch of March, 1947, on the need for an extension of the franchise, the introduction of direct taxation and a revision of trade union legislation.

Mr. Creech Jones

I hope shortly to inform the Governor of my views on the recommendations which have been made by the Joint Committee of the Legislature. Meanwhile I am unable to add to my reply to the hon. Member for Mile End (Mr. Piratin) on 22nd September.
