§ 81. Mr. S. Marshallasked the President of the Board of Trade why it has been found necessary to table an Order in Council proposing to increase the charges for verifying and stamping of weights and measures.
§ Mr. H. WilsonThe hon. Member has been misinformed; no such Order in Council has been tabled. I have, however,194W received representations from a number of local authorities that the statutory fees for the verification and stamping of weighing and measuring instruments should be increased. Proposals for the amendment of the existing Fees Orders have been circulated by my Department to the interested parties for comment, and their replies are now under consideration.
