Mr. J. P. L. Thomasasked the Minister of Supply whether he has any statement to make with regard to the future of the Redhill Hostel, Hereford; and whether he is now prepared to receive a deputation from the Hereford City Council and the Herefordshire County Council.
§ Mr. G. R. StraussIt is proposed to transfer this hostel to the Ministry of Labour and National Service on 4th April, 1948, since the number of Ministry of Supply employees living there does not justify its retention by my Department. The hostel will continue to accommodate present residents and will meet other industrial needs in the area. Surplus accommodation has been transferred to the local authority for housing purposes.
