§ Mr. Wilfred PalingThe rearrangement of the delivery and collection services in mid-1947 was made necessary by the Government's decision that the Post Office, in common with other Government Departments, should effect a reduction in its manpower. The alterations were introduced after consultation with the Post Office Advisory Council.
