§ Mr. ShinwellThe general arrangements made in previous years for giving help to farmers will be continued this year. All formation and unit commanders are being instructed to ensure that such military labour and transport as can be made available is employed to the best advantage. The hon. Member will appreciate, however, that owing to the decrease in the size of the Army the number of troops available for loan to farmers will necessarily be smaller than in previous years.
