§ 60. Sir R. Glynasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether in view of the high Cost of shot gun cartridges, he will consider the necessity for the removal of Purchase Tax so that, through the agency of county agricultural executive committees, farmers and others can obtain, as during the war, permits to buy cartridges at a reasonable price in order to reduce the number of vermin that are 173W damaging crops, etc., their numbers having considerably increased due to the existing high cost of cartridges over recent months.

§ Mr. Glenvil HallThe registered supplier has under the law to pay the tax, and there is no provision for exemption according to the circumstances under which a chargeable article is supplied.
