HC Deb 09 March 1948 vol 448 c138W
Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether in pursuance of the policy of preventing further rises in prices it is proposed to fix at the present level the price of fuel oil for the use of industry.

Mr. Gaitskell

The inland selling prices of fuel oil are dependent upon world prices over which I have no control and in these circumstances I cannot undertake that they will remain at their present level.
