asked the Postmaster General if he can give any relevant comparable figures, showing the amount of business and volume of letters handled by the Eastcote sub-post office and the Ruislip Manor post office in, say 1930, 1938 and 1947.

I assume my hon. Friend refers to the offices known as Field End, Eastcote and Victoria Road, Ruislip. I regret that particulars of business for 1930 are not now available, but particulars of some of the main items for 1938 and the year ended 31st March, 1947, are given below. Ordinary letters are not handled at either office.
