HC Deb 04 March 1948 vol 448 cc89-90W
94. Mr. Baker White

asked the Minister of Agriculture what discussions he had with the representatives of the British growers of fruit, flowers and vegetables before entering into a trade agreement with the Netherlands, in order to ensure that the importations of horticultural produce allowed under it will not be to the detriment of British horticulture.

Mr. G. Brown

Producers were not specifically consulted during these negotiations but I am generally aware of their views and I am satisfied that the importations of horticultural produce allowed under the agreement will not be to the detriment of British horticulture.
