84. Mr. Gooch

asked the Minister of Health if he will allow the East Coast seaside resorts, to which money was advanced during the war to overcome wartime difficulties, to retain substantial sums of the moneys advanced and thus enable such resorts to meet the high re-instatement costs.

Mr. Bevan

There is no justification for treating coast towns more favourably than other towns which suffered war damage.
