§ Mr. TomlinsonThe nutritional standard aimed at in the School Meals Service was set out in Circular 1571, of which I am sending my hon. Friend a copy. It is estimated that the combined calorie value of school milk and dinner averages about 900 calories a day. Last February 4,366,000 pupils were having milk and 2,596,000 were having dinner at school out of a total of 4,963,000 present.
