THE EARL OF MANSFIELD

asked His Majesty's Government, whether they will state the total number of workers, male and female, now employed in the various Admiralty establishments around Almond-bank, Perthshire, and what proportion of these have been recruited in Perthshire, as compared with those brought in from the rest of Scotland and England, respectively.

THE FIRST LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (VISCOUNT HALL)

The total number of men and women employed at present at the R.N. Store Depot, Almondbank, Perth, is 1,102. Of this number, 973 (88 per cent.) were recruited locally, 76 (7 per cent.) were brought in from other parts of Scotland and 53 (5 per cent.) were brought in from England.

There are no other Admiralty establishments in or near Almondbank.

asked His Majesty's Government, whether they will state how many buses are daily employed, bringing to the Admiralty stores at Almondbank, Perthshire, the workers who are unable to obtain accommodation locally; and what is the total daily mileage involved.

VISCOUNT HALL

The number of buses employed daily is 19, and the total distance travelled by these vehicles is 350 miles.
