§ 91. Mr. T. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations if he has considered the request of the Government of Ceylon to His Majesty's Government in Britain to assist Ceylon in the matter of diplomatic affairs in foreign countries; and what response he is making.
§ Mr. Gordon-WalkerThe United Kingdom Government have gladly given all the help in external affairs for which the Government of Ceylon have asked, and they will, of course, continue to do so. An undertaking to furnish such help was given in the External Affairs Agreement signed by the two Governments on the 11th November, 1947. The text of this Agreement was published in Command Paper 7257.
