Lindsayasked the Minister of Education how he proposes to interpret Section 76 of the Education Act, 1944, relating to consideration of parents' wishes in the provision of education; and whether a large majority of parents' wishes, combined with the majority vote of a local divisional executive, will be treated as a sufficient reason for invoking Ministerial discretion.
§ Mr. TomlinsonIn the event of disputes between parents and local education authorities arising out of parents' wishes for the education of their children I should have to determine the question in the light of the considerations set out in Section 76 of the Education Act, 1944, and of all the circumstances of the particular case. I cannot answer hypothetical questions.
