§ 68. Mr. Harrisonasked the Minister of Fuel and Power under what circumstances it is permissible under the new Petrol Regulations, to supply to farmers substantial quantities of the non-commercial spirit, for industrial use on the farms.
§ Mr. GaitskellFarmers normally receive commercial petrol for industrial use on farms. Non-commercial petrol may, however, be supplied for this purpose by a dealer who has been granted a licence to supply such petrol for all purposes. Such a licence may be granted to a dealer with only one pump operating in an isolated area, at least 10 miles from any other dealer, and where there is clear evidence that local consumers would be seriously inconvenienced by not being able to obtain commercial petrol.
