§ 27. Viscount Hinchingbrookeasked the President of the Board of Trade by how many the number of officials in his Department has been reduced consequent upon the recent reduction in clothing and footwear coupons and the elimination of certain articles from the clothing ration.
§ Mr. H. WilsonNo reductions in staff have yet been possible as the result of the recent changes in the clothing ration. Some articles were reduced in coupon value or removed from the ration, but coupons saved on purchases of such goods would normally be used in the purchase of other rationed goods. The recent bonus issue of coupons has also increased the number of coupons available to the public and should increase the number of transactions in rationed goods.
