§ 70. Mr. Baldwinasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the cinema at Bromyard, Herefordshire, which was destroyed in the blizzard of March, 1947, cannot be rebuilt owing to the necessary licences being refused; 85W that this means that there is no cinema within 13 miles of Bromyard, resulting in expensive motor coach journeys to adjoining towns; and whether he will now reconsider his refusal.
§ Mr. BelcherThis licence and a number of similar ones have been deferred in accordance with the decisions on capital investment in 1948, as set out in the White Paper, Cmd. 7268. I would refer the hon. Member particularly to paragraph 86 of Appendix A. We have reviewed the decision on the Bromyard case but are not at present prepared to reverse it.
