§ 65. Mr. W. Fletcherasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what were the reasons which led to the decision to transfer British Naval Headquarters in the Far East from Hong Kong to Singapore.
Mr. DugdaleThe transfer of the shore Headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief British Pacific Fleet from Hong Kong to Singapore, where the Command Headquarters of the other Services are already located, was decided in accordance with the policy of His Majesty's Government that in principle the Headquarters of the Commanders-in-Chief of the three Services overseas should be located together.
