The 1939 figure includes limestone produced by quarries belonging to or operated on behalf of iron and steel manufacturers, whereas the figures for 1947 are exclusive of this. Separate figures for the production from these quarries are not available. The figures for 1947 are approximate. Complete returns are not yet available.
