§ Mrs. Middletonasked the Minister of Health what is the total number of habitations in the parish of Bickleigh, Devon; how many of these are without main drainage or cesspits; and whether he will take steps to have the village of Bickleigh connected with the existing nearby sewerage system constructed and used by Admiralty establishments.
§ Mr. BevanThere are 220 permanent houses; some 36 houses drain to modern works; most of the remainder of the development is scattered and without main drainage. I have no information of the total number of cesspits in the parish. I shall be ready to consider any schemes submitted by the local authority for main drainage.
