§ 2. Mr. Skinnardasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies which of the territories under his control have so far not established co-operative departments; and whether he is satisfied that the law relating to co-operative societies is now satisfactory in all Colonies.
Mr. Creech JonesThere are at present no separate co-operative departments in 16 of the smaller territories (the names of which are given at the end of this answer) but many of these make provision for co-operative societies. While there is not yet a law relating to co-operative societies in all Colonies, model legislation is now being considered by all Colonial Governments and this will, I hope, lead to the early enactment of legislation suited to local conditions.
