§ 86. Mr. Dribergasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will indicate the basis of the assessment by his Department's consumer needs service which showed that supplies of inexpensive pottery to the shops of Braintree, Essex, were, comparatively, adequate; and if he will take further steps to ensure that such supplies are distributed more fairly to small towns and villages remote from the places of manufacture.
§ Mr. BelcherIn regard to the first part of the Question, the assessment was based on the relatively greater supplies available to the local population through the Braintree shops over the last six months130W as compared with total supplies to the home market. As to the second part of the Question, every effort is already being made, with the help of the potters, to provide fairly for outlying districts.
