§ 95. Mr. Piratinasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will again review the policy now prevailing of refusal 117W to grant compassionate leave to unmarried soldiers willing to marry the mothers of their babies, in order to legitimise them before birth.
§ Mr. ShinwellI have already reviewed the policy and am of opinion that the present arrangement whereby each case brought to notice is judged on its merits is the most satisfactory. I am, however, keeping the matter under review, and should any modification be desirable I will carry it out.
