§ 95. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Health if he is satisfied that the rural district councils will be able this year to provide 25,000 new houses for the additional farm workers needed to carry through the programme of increased food production.
§ Mr. BevanThe number of houses required for farm workers in 1948 will be determined by the rate of recruitment of new workers to the industry and the actual demand for houses from existing and prospective workers. Local authorities have been asked to give special consideration to agricultural needs in allocating tenancies.
