Mr. Baker Whiteasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when publication of the annual Public Social Services Return on the lines of Cmd. 5906 of November, 1935, will be resumed.
§ Sir S. CrippsPublication of the annual Public Social Services Return was suspended as a wartime economy measure. The more important figures, however, continued to be given annually to Parliament in answers to Questions, the last return being published in the OFFICIAL REPORT for 19th December, 1947. A decision about the future of the return must, I think, be postponed until we have had experience of the full working of recent changes in the administration of the social services.
