§ 96. Mr. Bramallasked the Minister of Food why, in view of the unfavourable balance of £15 million in trade with Spain for the period January-November, 1947, Spanish wines were imported into this country to a value of £2½ million during 1947.
§ Mr. StracheyI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply he has just received from the President of the Board of Trade to his Question on the balance of trade with Spain. In view of this there are no objections on currency grounds to the importation of Spanish wines into this country on the scale which prevailed during 1947.
