§ 64. Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Agriculture what acreage of land is used for hare and rabbit coursing at Altcar, Lydiate and Withens-all; how far this land is considered suitable for purposes of growing food; and whether he will take steps to secure it for this purpose.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsI am informed that it is the practice to hold four coursing meetings each year in one or other of the places named. A suitable grass field of some 15 acres is selected and I am not aware of any complaints of damage to agricultural interests from the occasional use of land for this purpose.
