§ 108. Mr. Bowdenasked the Minister of Food why 12 pints of milk per week may be obtained on a child's ration book when the child is being fed on patent food and is under 12 months old, but a child wholly fed on National Dried Milk does not receive an allowance of milk; and if he will agree to make an allowance in the latter case.
§ Mr. StracheyNational Dried Milk is issued at a reduced price or free as an alternative to liquid milk under the national scheme of family allowances. Proprietory infant food is not a family allowance in kind and is normally paid for at the full retail price, so the priority 157W milk is not withdrawn. I am considering whether any change in these arrangements is desirable.
