§ 61. Mr. Lipsonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the Government's policy to freeze wages, he will state what is estimated to be a reasonable income under existing price conditions, for a married industrial worker with two children.
§ Mr. JayI would refer the hon. Member to paragraph 7 (particularly 7 (a)) of the White Paper on Personal Incomes, Costs and Prices, from which he will see that it is not the Government's policy to embark on a course which would lead to their having to assess and regulate all personal incomes according to a scale.
