§ Mr. Dribergasked the Minister of Food if, in view of the fact that supplies of coffee are fairly adequate, he will permit the inclusion of small quantities of coffee in food parcels to Germany.
§ Mr. StracheyI regret that we cannot allow coffee to be included in gift food parcels sent abroad. Existing supplies would be insufficient to meet this additional demand and unless the gifts were to be allowed at the expense of the home consumer the additional supplies for the purpose would have to be bought from dollar sources and this we cannot at present justify.
