§ 59. Mr. Leonardasked the Minister of Food if he can give an assurance that his Department has examined the disabilities attending to single persons living alone, in endeavouring to meet their needs within the points and rationing schemes and what possibility there is of affording them some relief.
§ Mr. StracheyI deeply sympathise with the difficulties of persons living alone and I have instituted most careful examination of their position, but I am bound to say that I have not so far discovered a way of altering our rationing system in their favour.
