asked the President of the Board of Trade how many investigators from the market research section are employed touring the country to inquire from shopkeepers the number of infant nightdresses and carrying shawls they have sold during the past three months; and how much petrol is being used in this investigation.

A sample inquiry designed to provide information of practical value to the Board in planning the production of infants' wear was carried out by four officers. Sixty-nine gallons of petrol were used.
