HC Deb 09 February 1948 vol 447 c26W
Mr. Piratin

asked the Secretary of State for War what is the number of Poles in Great Britain who have refused to be repatriated or to enter the Polish Resettlement Corps; and what steps he proposes to take in the matter.

Mr. Shinwell

Approximately 1,400 Poles in this country administered by my Department have refused to be repatriated or to enter the Polish Resettlement Corps. The majority of these wish to emigrate and every effort will continue to be made to dispose of them all as quickly as possible.
