asked the Minister of Transport how many locomotives have been converted to oil burning so far on each of the former systems of the G.W.R., L.M.S., L.N.E. and S.R.; and to what extent it is proposed that oil-burning shall supersede coal-burning locomotives in future policy.

Thirty-seven, 24, one and 31 respectively. Future policy is under consideration.
