78. Mr. Scott-Elliot

asked the Minister of Food if he will state the number of eggs delivered to packing stations by British poultry farmers during the last quarter of 1947; and how this compares with the corresponding period in 1946.

Dr. Summerskill

Deliveries to packing stations in the United Kingdom were 13.2 million dozen eggs in the last quarter of 1947, compared with 15.1 million dozen in the last quarter of 1946, a reduction of about 13 per cent.

asked the Minister of Food if he will make a statement on the increase in the price of fresh eggs.
