§ Dr. SummerskillThe possibility of establishing a trade in white beans and white splitting peas from East African Territories is now under consideration. The managing agency for the East African Groundnut Scheme has also been asked to look at the possibility of including these and other pulses among the crops to be grown in rotation with groundnuts. It will, however, be necessary to overcome the problem of insect infestation before East Africa can produce peas and beans of a quality suitable for the United Kingdom market.
