§ 12. Mr. Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether an annual census on lines general throughout the Western Pacific can now be introduced into the Solomon Islands.
Mr. Creech JonesA census is not held annually throughout the Western Pacific. Censuses or counts of population have where possible been held every ten years. A count of the population of the British Solomon Islands was conducted in 1937, and a further count was to be made last year. I have not yet heard the result.
