HC Deb 04 February 1948 vol 446 c281W
74. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will give an estimate of the scrap iron and steel which will be available when H.M.S. "Rodney" is broken up; and when this operation is likely to be undertaken.

Mr. W. Edwards

It is estimated that the breaking up of "Rodney" will produce approximately 24,000 tons of scrap iron and steel. No detailed arrangements for handing over have yet been made and no forecast of the date can be given at present.
