77. Commander Pursey

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what are the number of executive cadets entered at Dartmouth College at the age of 13 years and through the Special Entry Scheme at 17 to 18 years, respectively; and the number of officers commissioned from ratings under the sub-lieutenant scheme, and from warrant officers, respectively, during the year 1947.

During 1947, 173 Executive Branch Cadets entered R.N. College, Dartmouth—115 at the age of 13 and 58 between the ages of 17 and 18 by the Special Entry Group of examinations. Four ratings were commissioned as Executive Officers under the Sub-Lieutenant Scheme and 21 Warrant Officers were commissioned as Executive Officers on the General List.
