§ Mr. W. EdwardsThe total number on 1st January, 1948, was approximately 5,350 including about 300 part-time staff. Admiralty establishments first opened in Bath in September, 1939. Full records for 1st January, 1940, are not available but my information indicates that the total was then 5,000.
